Lufkin lawyer Wayne Haglund was invited to speak at the 2019 Martha McCarthy Education Law and Policy Institute at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, on Friday.
The conference brings together educational leaders, attorneys, policy makers and professors to participate in discussions addressing hot topics in education law. Haglund spoke on The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment and religious freedom. Haglund also participated in a panel discussion of the Hot Topics in Education Law for 2018-19.
Haglund serves as the president of the Education Law Association, a national organization of university administrators and professors, k-12 administrators and education lawyers based in Cleveland, Ohio. The ELA is dedicated to promoting interest in and understanding of legal issues in public and private k-12 and higher education, as well as the rights of students, parents, teachers, faculty and administrators in education.
