Arshad Imran and wife Hajira took over the business in 1998, making customer service their top priority, even sleeping in the back with an infant son to keep the 24-hour operation running, Hajira said. "It is an achievement for me and the city of Huntington as well," Imran said. "It is a great thing to happen in this little town." The Economic Development Board of Huntington chose New Way as the award recipient because of the Imran family's contribution to the city. Board member Charles Gabehart said the Imrans have brought the formerly run-down business into the 21st century. "They invested a lot of money into making this business better," said Ray Browning, Economic Development Board President. "The sales tax revenue generated allows us to invest in improving our city." Imran said he would like to thank his employees, including two that passed away recently, and the people of Huntington for their support and dedication.
