DIBOLL — A fire broke out at the Diboll Georgia-Pacific particle board plant. It was contained within the hour.

No injuries were reported and all employees were accounted for, Yana Ogletree, GP public affairs specialist, said.

"We had approximately 50 people working," she said. "At the first sign of fire the whole facility evacuated immediately."

The fire was called in around 8 p.m. at the press machine area. The machine creates particle boards by crushing sawdust with glue and other substances until it combines, Ogletree said.

Huntington, Diboll and Fuller Springs volunteer fire departments responded. While containing the fire, GP employees were kept behind the security fence in the parking lot.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
