Farewell to a Commissioner: Standing-room-only crowd pays respects to Rick Harrison

It was standing room only Saturday at Keltys First Baptist Church as friends, family and colleagues gathered to celebrate the life of Angelina County Commissioner Rick Harrison. The rose-draped coffin was flanked by Lufkin Police honor guard and Lufkin Fire Department personnel. Harrison served 24 years as a Lufkin Police officer before retiring. He served as Angelina County Precinct 1 Commissioner for past 12 years and was re-elected in November. He also served as past Master and Secretary of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.E. & A.M. The Precinct I work crew served as pallbearers and Masonic Rites and Interment were administered by about 50 Masons at the Largent Cemetery in Hudson following the chapel service.
