Postal workers decry proposal on consolidation

In addition to the loss of jobs, moving mail processing operations from Lufkin will create hardships for small businesses and increase the time it takes for residents to send and receive mail, union official says

The U.S. Postal Service’s proposed plan that could shift mail processing operations from Lufkin to North Houston poses a serious threat to prompt and reliable mail service to residents in the 759 zip code area, a local American Postal Workers Union official said.
