A mother called the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office requesting her adult son be evicted from their home after he reportedly called her a “Yankee” during an argument Monday afternoon in the 200 block of Julius Road.

A deputy told the woman she would have to go through a formal eviction process to do so.

The Diboll Police Department arrested Felix Miguel Angel Flores-Cano, 36, Monday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He remained in the Angelina County Jail Tuesday on a $100,000 bond. Information on his arrest was not immediately available Tuesday.

A man reported being punched in face by his ex-girlfriend while dropping his new girlfriend off at her job Monday night on U.S. Highway 69 north.

A woman reported being assaulted by her boyfriend after he saw her talking to another man Monday night in the 100 block of Laura Street. The woman said he screamed at her and then hit her in the head and chest before throwing her into a ditch. The suspect was gone when deputies arrived.

Mario Albert Gonzalez, 29, of Lufkin, wanted on a warrant for assault/family violence, was arrested outside his job Monday evening after allegedly refusing to give deputies his name and attempting to flee on foot. Deputies caught up to him and ordered him to stop. When he did not, he was Tased and taken into custody.  

An unrestrained dog reportedly bit a jogger Monday afternoon in the 1400 block of Edgewood Circle.

An unrestrained dog reportedly bit a child who was playing in his own yard Monday evening in the 100 block of Kelly Field.

A woman reported getting a call from Washington, D.C., in which the caller claimed to be from the IRS and investigating fraud against her. She said the caller then asked for personal information and she hung up the phone.

The Lufkin Police Department made seven other arrests late Monday and early Tuesday. Arrests and charges included: Kory Otteson, 35, criminal mischief; Brandon Baker, 20, two traffic warrants; Latycia Sterns, 23, two warrants; Jethro Henderson, 70, criminal trespass warrant; Adrian Segura, 21, invalid license and no insurance; Angelito Puente, 23, four warrants; and Alondra Luna, 25, two warrants.

The Angelina County Sheriff’s Office made four arrests late Monday and early Tuesday. Arrests and charges included: Brandon Hatters, 20, bench warrant; Kelon Davis, 20, criminal nonsupport; Robert Lilley, 40, warrant and a judgment; and Quintin Long, 50, two theft warrants.

The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Britani Bertrand, 30, on a possession of marijuana warrant Tuesday.

The Pct. 1 constable arrested Cesar Mora, 23, on a charge of expired driver’s license Monday.

The Hudson Police Department arrested Rosa Garcia, 43, on an endangering a child warrant Tuesday.

The Angelina County Jail housed 227 inmates as of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
