Calvin Coutee, 32, was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly threatening to kill a police officer attempting to arrest him on a warrant. At the time the threat was made, the officer was attempting to take Coutee into custody on a driving while license invalid warrant. Coutee reportedly first resisted and then threatened the office before allowing the officer to take him to jail. His bond had not been set as of 9 a.m. Friday.

Christopher Garsee, 35, was arrested Tuesday after reportedly attempting to steal two 50-inch TVs from Walmart. He also allegedly had a Glade air freshener, steel toe boots and a Nintendo Wii controller.

The Lufkin Police Department made eight other arrests late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Arrests and charges included: James Landers, 29, public intoxication; Kent Hadnot, 21, criminal trespass; Louis Skinner, 32, warrant; Larry Penick, 52, possession of drug paraphernalia and a Class C warrant; Frances Baker, 21, criminal trespass; Eric Taylor, 26, parole warrant; Lasaunta Johnson, 33, Class C warrant; and DeAndre Hooper, 29, Class C warrant.

The Angelina County Jail housed 231 inmates as of 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
