An intoxicated Hudson man was arrested Sunday morning after being caught stealing beer, according to a Lufkin Police report.
Christopher Pahal, 20, was arrested after trying to make an unsuccessful getaway around 8 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of North Timberland. Beer cannot be purchased before noon on Sundays, according to state law.
Pahal was arrested and taken to the Angelina County Jail, where he posted a $1,000 bond the same day.
Though he initially fled the scene of the crime, a shoplifter was arrested Sunday after driving back by the business, according to the Lufkin Police Department.
Carlos Delafuente, 25, of Diboll was arrested on a charge of theft after attempting to steal an air conditioner and tools Sunday in the 2200 block of South First Street.
He remained in the Angelina County Jail Monday afternoon as his bond had not been set.
Lufkin Police are looking for the man who allegedly robbed Dairy Queen on Atkinson Drive.
Employees told responding officers that as they walked to their vehicles after closing, they were approached by a black male with a dark brown towel draped over his head wearing jeans and a black short-sleeve T-shirt.
Believing they were being robbed, they dropped the bank deposit bag and ran back into the restaurant.
A witness told police that as he left his home that night he saw two black men running from the direction of Dairy Queen, get into a gray single cab Chevy and speed away down Traylor Street toward Loop 287.
A man reportedly forced his wayinto a woman’s home and punched her in the head Sunday night. The man fled the scene before police arrived, but police indicated that they intended to issue a warrant for his arrest on a charge of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault.
A credit/debit card found in a parking lot in the 4500 block of South Medford Drive was turned into police Sunday.
A woman reported being harassed by a man to whom she gave a ride Sunday in the 2500 block of Lotus Lane.
A home was reportedly broken into Sunday in the 300 block of East Bremond Avenue.
A man reportedly confronted and cussed at his mother Sunday afternoon at her workplace in the 1600 block of Sayers Street.
A $500 mountain bike was reported stolen Sunday in the 2500 block of South John Redditt Drive.
The Lufkin Police Department made five other arrests late Sunday and early Monday. Arrests and charges included: Juan Duron, 21, probation revocation; Asia Jones, 30, warrants; LD Diggles, 58, assault/family violence; Katherine Jenkins, 21, theft; and Tyrana Black, 33, warrants.
The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Robert Landrum, 48, Sunday on a charge of second driving while intoxicated.
The Hudson Police Department arrested Jose Zamora, 29, Sunday on a charge of DWI.
The Angelina County Jail housed 230 inmates as of 5:30 p.m. Monday.
