A Lufkin man and woman were arrested Sunday evening after getting caught trying to steal crab meat.
Michelle Thomas, 28, and Harold Shaw 57, were caught and arrested on charges of theft and previous warrants at the store in the 300 block of South Chestnut Street. Thomas reportedly pushed the arresting officer in an attempt to flee but was stopped. They were both arrested and taken to the Angelina County Jail.
Thomas is on probation for an April 2010 incident in which she reportedly stabbed her boyfriend with scissors for being bad in bed.
Thomas and Shaw remained in the Angelina County Jail as of Monday evening.
Two debit cards and a book with $140 inside of it were reportedly stolen out of a vehicle broken into Saturday in the 400 block of Charlton Street.
An evicted tenant reportedly stole toilet parts and two window air conditioning units overnight Sunday in the 500 block of West Frank Avenue.
A window was broken out of a home Sunday in the 200 block of Booker Street.
A car was keyed while its owner was watching a movie Sunday at the Lufkin Mall.
A man hurt a woman Sunday when he tried to take her cell phone out of her hand, a police report stated.
A Playstation 3 was reported stolen from a home broken into Sunday in the 3300 block of Paul Avenue.
Electronics were reported stolen from a home broken into Sunday in the 600 block of Hoo Hoo Avenue.
A person reported being assaulted in the parking lot of The Beach night club Monday morning.
A home in the 500 block of Dixon Street was reportedly broken into Monday while its owner was in a Houston hospital.
A storage building was broken into sometime in the last two weeks, according to a police report.
The Lufkin Police Department made two other arrests late Sunday and early Monday. Arrests and charges included: Jorge Hurtado, 43, criminal mischief and public intoxication; and Paula Grier, 38, criminal trespass.
The Angelina County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kristy Malone, 21, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Lekendrick Oliphany, 26, on a charge of driving with an invalid license Monday.
The Huntington Police Department arrested Lauri Holcombe, 35, on a probation revocation Monday.
The Angelina County Jail housed 253 inmates as of 11 a.m. Monday.
