Alfonzo “The Devil” Anthony was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly shoplifting shoes at Walmart.

At the time the 30-year-old Lufkin man was arrested, he was in possession of a $20 pair of FUBU shoes for which he had not paid, a Lufkin Police report stated. He was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after officers found half an ounce of marijuana rolled in cigars on him, the report stated.

Anthony had three public intoxication warrants and a theft warrant. According to county records, Anthony was arrested 10 days earlier on a theft charge and released the same day on a $500 bond. He remained in the Angelina County Jail Wednesday on a collective $3,956 bond.

Juan Mandujano, 26, and Irving Soto, 24, both of Lufkin, were arrested around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Myrna Avenue.

Mandujano was reportedly in possession of synthetic marijuana known as K2. He is being charged with possession of a controlled substance. He also had two traffic warrants, while Soto has a probation revocation warrant, county records state.

Soto remained in the Angelina County Jail Wednesday afternoon on a $5,000 bond. Mandujano was released hours later on a collection $2,000 bond.

A person reported being assaulted by someone they know Tuesday in the 1200 block of East Denman Avenue.

A lost credit card was reportedly used at Toys R Us in Tyler.

A cell phone theft was reported Tuesday in the 100 block of North John Redditt Drive.

A man reported having his arm grabbed by an unknown man Tuesday night in the 3000 block of South First Street.

A person reported being assaulted by someone they know Tuesday in the 800 block of North Timberland Drive.

A woman reported Tuesday that someone is buying things off the Internet using her dead husband’s information.

Text message harassment was reported Tuesday evening in the 700 block of McHale Street.

A fence around a property was reportedly cut last weekend in the 1600 block of East Denman Avenue.

Someone in Lufkin has been sending fake invoices to an out-of-state trucking company posing as a business.

The Lufkin Police Department made five arrests late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Arrests and charges included: Marcus Brooks, 33, possession of drug paraphernalia; James Hector, 28, theft; Tammy Bergstrom, 51, theft; Michael Parker, 19, theft warrant; and Jose Lopez Jr., 30, traffic warrant.

The Angelina County Sheriff’s Office made three arrests late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Arrests and charges included: Richard Herrington, 51, bench warrant; Christopher Musick, 34, bench warrant; and Roderick Stevens, 42, adjudication of guilt.

The Pct. 1 constable arrested Kenneth Allen, 39, on four warants Tuesday.

The Pct. 4 constable arrested Jesus Martinez, 20, on a bond forfeiture warrant and three traffic warrants Tuesday.

The Angelina County Jail housed 238 inmates as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.
