A Lufkin woman was arrested Sunday morning on a warrant while visiting a friend at the Angelina County Jail.

Contesha Moore Thompson, 32, was taken into custody after jail staff recognized her as someone who was wanted on a warrant for driving her vehicle into the vehicle of a woman with whom she had a problem in November, according to a Lufkin Police report.

Moore was released from jail the same day on a $20,000 bond on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Shoplifting was reported Sunday in the 100 block of North Timberland Drive.

A speed limit sign was reportedly found in a front yard Sunday in the 100 block of Whitehouse Oaks Street.

The Lufkin Police Department made five arrests late Sunday and early Monday. Arrests and charges included: Joseph Lewis, 36, assault/family violence; Felice Woods, 41, no insurance and five Class C warrants; Larry Cupit, no age, expired license plates; Joshua Turner, 22, public intoxication; and Aspion Jones, 22, warrants.

The Hudson Police Department made two arrests late Sunday and early Monday. Arrests and charges included: Ronnie Brazel, 27, warrant; and Breanne Guzman, 28, warrants.

The Angelina County Jail housed 196 inmates as of 6 p.m. Monday.
