The Angelina County Sheriff’s Office has served a warrant on Christopher Marriott for the May 19 murder of his wife, Sandra Marriott, according to Sheriff’s Office Capt. Alton Lenderman.
Marriott reportedly called 911 saying he and his wife were injured due to them both attempting suicide, Lenderman said. Marriott said his wife was successful because she was stronger but that he also had injuries.
Deputies found Marriott, who was conscious and alert. Sandra was found dead on the scene at the home in the 100 block of Beech Street, outside of Huntington, Lenderman said.
Marriott has been receiving treatment in a Houston-area hospital since the incident, while Sandra was sent to a Jefferson County Morgue for an autopsy, Lenderman said.
Investigators determined Marriott caused the death of his wife and issued a warrant.
