U.S. Highway 69 wreck

A Ford Explorer rests on its side after a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 69, just south of FM 841 near Homer. Four people were taken to Lufkin hospitals after the accident, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

HOMER — Four patients were hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 69 near Loop 287 late Saturday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Galen Davis, 35, of Lufkin, was transported to St. Luke’s Health-Memorial, while Steven Clark, 56, and Cara Clark, 51, of Lufkin, and a 6-year-old were transported to Woodland Heights Medical Center.

At approximately 8:38 p.m., a 2013 Ford pickup towing a trailer with a boat and a 2002 BMW passenger car, driven by Davis, were traveling northbound, according to DPS.

The BMW failed to control its speed and struck the trailer. The BMW crossed into the northbound lanes striking a 2020 Ford SUV, driven by Steven Clark, traveling northbound, according to DPS.

The driver of the Ford pickup was not injured.
