A Lufkin woman died in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on state Highway 103 east, near the intersection with Farm-to-Market Road 95, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Retha Lyles, 53, of Lufkin, was pronounced dead on the scene by a Justice of the Peace.

The preliminary investigation by the DPS indicates that at approximately 10 a.m., a 2015 Toyota passenger car driven by Lyles was traveling west while a 2021 Ford pickup and its towed unit were traveling east.

The Toyota failed to drive in a single lane and traveled into the east lane, striking the Ford head on, according to the report.

The driver of the Ford, identified as 50-year-old Joseph White of Orange and passenger, 54-year-old Anthony Corbello of Lake Charles, Louisiana, were transported to Nacogdoches Memorial for treatment.

The DPS said no additional information is available at this time.
