A defendant on trial for robbery told jurors Wednesday he is innocent because he had more than enough cash from diesel repairs, visiting game rooms and selling drugs.

“I grew up in the crack era,” Billy Ray Pegues testified. “I saw everyone selling meth and I thought it was a white person’s drug, but it brought in money like you wouldn’t believe.”
