Lufkin police responded to a welfare check on a suicidal subject in the 300 block of Charlton Street around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to a press release from Jessica Pebsworth, communications director for the city of Lufkin.

The tactical team, including the crisis negotiators, were called for additional manpower. Officers were still trying to locate the person as of 7 p.m. Tuesday.
