Lufkin has a crime problem. But we had a lightbulb moment that might yield a possible solution.

Our town is growing and, perhaps understandably, our crime rate is growing along with it. But while Lufkin only saw a 6% increase in its crime rate in 2020 as compared to 2019, there were still 1,781 indexed crimes reported in our city last year, including two murders, 32 rapes, 46 robberies, 204 aggravated assaults, 275 burglaries, 1,103 larcenies and 119 motor vehicle thefts, according to the annual report released by the Lufkin Police Department.
