The Texas Legislature can be puzzling at times, and one doozy of a prime example came down the pike last month in the form of Gov. Greg Abbott’s veto of Senate Bill 474, better known as the Safe Dogs Outdoors Act.

And contrary to the #AbbottHatesDogs hashtag that began trending in the wake of his shocking reversal of a bill that sailed through the House and Senate, it would appear our state’s top lawmaker actually likes them.
