With the novel coronavirus pandemic hampering its household visit efforts, the 2020 Census has pushed back its deadline for citizens to respond to the end of October.

“Since there has been so much going on with COVID and we haven’t really been able to utilize the boots on the ground like we initially thought, they have moved the self-response date back to October 31,” said DaVina Morris, executive assistant for the Deep East Texas Council of Governments. “That means anybody can respond by mail, internet or phone until October 31.”
