Stephen F. Austin senior guard Marissa Banfield (14) looks for a teammate to pass the ball to during earlier season action in the 2020-21 season. The Ladyjacks finished the first portion of their schedule with an 8-2 mark and open Southland action Saturday at home.

NACOGDOCHES — After playing the maximum number of non-conference games and earning eight wins in 10 contests — including all five at home — the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks hope they can continue their roll into Southland Conference action this weekend when they return from Christmas break to battle New Orleans.

The league opener is set as the first part of a women-men doubleheader inside William R. Johnson Coliseum, with a 2 p.m. tip off. The Ladyjacks are also scheduled to be at home on Wednesday night, Jan. 6, hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 6:30 p.m.
