Panthers Hoops

Lufkin’s Javian Redmon drives to the basket against College Park’s Marvin Dock and Darel Reece during non-district action at Panther Gym Friday afternoon. College Park took a 59-46 win.

Hosting a College Park team that had scored at least 80 points in four of their last six games, Lufkin head coach J.T. McManus knew the Panthers needed to force the Cavaliers into a pace that was more in their favor.

He was able to set that pace in holding the Cavs nearly 20 points under their average. However, College Park flexed some defensive muscle of its own as it held Lufkin without a field goal for 10:28 while holding off every Panthers’ surge down the stretch on their way to a 59-46 win in non-district action at Panther Gym Friday afternoon.
